What does "no cure, no pay" mean exactly?

If a client is not satisfied at the end of the contest period, they can close the contest without selecting a winner, without needing to provide a reason. In that case, the client does not have to pay an award or a success fee.

We fully trust that the designers will deliver a good design, but we are only satisfied when the client is as well!

The 'no cure, no pay guarantee' does not apply to guaranteed contests. In such cases, the full amount is paid upfront and is non-refundable. The client is required to select a winner in this case.
